This two-part intermediate level workshop that commences on Friday 14th October and concludes on Saturday 15th October, will develop your skills, taking you another step closer to the professionals. 

Workshop Day 1:

Developing a concept (applicable for beginner and intermediate): 3 hours

 

During the first hour, you will be briefed on idea generation and will learn how to create a strong translatable concept through Food Photography.

 

During the next 90 minutes the class will be divided into groups and as a team, you will work on creating a concept that would express a common theme.

  • What is conceptual food photography

  • Research

  • Idea Generation & Concept building

  • Developing a mood board

  • Q&A session

 What you need to bring for Day 1:

  • A laptop with wifi cabability for access to the internet

 

Workshop Day 2:

Conceptual Food Photography (applicable for intermediate level users **): 4 hours 

During part two you will understand the importance of the elements in part one as you start setting up lighting and shooting.

 Drina will provide you through the following elements of part two:

  • Quick refresher on Aperture, F-stop and Shutter speed 

  • Understanding lighting, the types of light shapers and its uses 

  • Choosing a suitable light setup to match your concept

  • Styling and shooting your product

  • Critique and Review of final images

What you need to bring for Day 2:

  • A Laptop with Quad Core processor with 8GB minimum of RAM and at least 50GB of free disk space. 

  • Capture One or Adobe lightroom / Photoshop pre-installed
